I think an artist of any medium can confirm that the completion a project is in itself such a moment of celebration. We put days, weeks, months sometimes years into the art that we love and in the process are met with such a range of emotions, from crippling doubt to euphoric gratification. Though it may be fleeting and unshared with the public, it is in this final moment of completion of a piece, alone, that an artist has a true, raw moment of pure celebration. The rest? The parties, champagne, the premieres and events…is just for fun. As they say, there is an art to celebration. But I think the lucky few know that art actually is the celebration.
